It answers the two questions a newcomer asks first: what a product manager is, and whether it is a career worth moving into. The treatment is conversational rather than structured, closer to a long answer than a lecture, and it is aimed at someone deciding rather than someone already hired.
This is Part 1 of a series. It stands on its own as an introduction, but it does not cover execution, prioritisation or metrics — those come later in the series, which is not carried here.
