If you do not have an account

You can browse the whole catalogue without one. We do not require you to sign in to read anything.

Signing in

Sign-in is handled for us by Clerk, a third-party identity provider. When you create an account, Clerk stores your email address, your password and, if you add one, your name and profile picture. We never see your password: it is held by Clerk and we have no way to read it.

Clerk processes this data on our behalf and stores it on servers outside the UK and the EU. Clerk's own privacy notice covers what it does with it.

From Clerk we receive and store your email address, your name and the address of your profile picture, so that your account here can be linked to what you save.

What we store ourselves

Everything you choose to create on this site: your saved courses, your lists, your reviews and comments, any headline or short biography you write, your preferred language and country, and how far you have watched a video course.

Links out to providers

When you click through to a provider, we record that a click happened, which course it was for, and roughly where it came from. We do not store your full IP address: it is truncated before it is written, so it cannot identify you.

What the provider does once you arrive is covered by their privacy policy, not this one.

Cookies

Two cookies keep you signed in: one set by Clerk when you authenticate, and one set by this site for the session that follows. Both are required for the site to work and neither is used to track you across other sites.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not share your email address with providers or advertisers. We do not email you unless you asked us to or it is about your own account.

Seeing and changing your data

Your name, email address, password and profile picture are managed through Account & security on your account pages, which opens Clerk. Everything else — your headline, biography, language, saved courses and lists — is managed on the account pages themselves.

Deleting your account

Deleting your account inside Account & security removes your sign-in details from Clerk. It does not, on its own, remove what you have created on this site.

To have everything erased — your saved courses, lists, reviews, comments and profile — write to the contact address in the footer and ask. We will confirm when it is done. Reviews and comments you have published may be kept with your name removed, so that a conversation other people took part in does not lose half of itself.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while the account exists. Click records are kept for a limited period and then pruned automatically.
