Figma

You will learn how to create beautiful web app user interfaces with one of the most powerful free design tools, called Figma.
Important Note: I filmed this class in 2020, and although some of Figma's UI has changed since then, the skills learned in this course remain relevant. However, if you're looking for a more recent class on Figma, check out my class Master Figma in 2025: Web & Mobile App Design from Scratch, which covers the new UI and AI features as well.
What's Figma? Figma is a leading design software, helping teams and individuals create designs faster and more efficiently. Figma is free and you can use it right on your web browser, on Mac and Windows.
What sort of project will we be designing? In this course, we'll use Figma to create a beautiful and simple web app mockup for laundry store clients to browse their orders for a laundry delivery service. As we go through designing the 3-Page Web Mockup, we'll go over some of the most useful tools that Figma gives you:
- Setting up a Figma file from a Client Brief/Requirement - Learn how to apply Images & create Image Masks - Applying a Color Scheme to our designs. - Using Components for faster design experience. - How to use Plugins in Figma to fill our designs with sample data using Microsoft's Content Reel plugin. - Using Auto-layout to build responsive and replicable designs. - Learn how to create multiple versions of our project and refer back to old designs using Version History in Figma.
