About this course
Noble Desktop's UI Design Certificate is 120 hours of live teaching on designing the surface of websites and apps — and on the three tools the work is actually done in.
Figma carries the interface work: components, auto layout, responsive layouts across mobile, tablet and desktop, and interactive prototypes. Photoshop covers retouching, compositing and preparing images for web, video and print. Illustrator covers vector drawing, so logos and icons are made rather than found.
Underneath the software is the graphic design reasoning that decides what to make: hierarchy, type, colour and the conventions a user already expects a screen to follow. The programme ends on a professional portfolio.
Taught in the Manhattan classroom or live online, on a fixed schedule. Four months of Adobe Creative Cloud access is included.
What you will learn
- Learn to use Figma for designing and prototyping the UI of websites, apps, etc.
- Gain an understanding of graphic design concepts and processes.
- Learn to retouch photos in Photoshop.
- Utilize Adobe Illustrator's drawing tools to create graphics, icons, and logos.
- Learn how to develop a professional portfolio.
Requirements
- No prior design experience.
- A computer able to run Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud. Four months of Adobe access is included.
